While the original publication of the manga came in two parts, this version is an omnibus and contains both installments. ![]() So much so that the action sequences in the manga are a sight to behold, I only wish I could say the same for the movie. Not least, as it follows the novel’s logical story more closely but also due to the fact it’s more of an action movie in terms of its tone as well as execution. In many ways, the manga feels like a more definitive adaptation compared to the movie. When the alien Mimics invade, Keiji Kiriya. The fights are dynamic and fast you really get the sense that they are powering up their wearer here. I have restocked All You Need Is Kill, the manga that inspired the movie Live, Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow. ![]() The big takeaway for me though is that the power armor in the manga looks incredible, as that was something the movie did fairly poorly I thought. Keiji is also a lot more likable as he’s not the smarmy coward you see in the film, as he initially volunteered to fight against the aliens, and Rita is a considerably scarier as well as more believable with it. ![]()
